Confirmation 2012

On Sunday, May 20th, 2012 we were very pleased to have a Solemn Mass together with the administration of the sacrament of Confirmation and First Communion by the Right Rev'd Jonathan Baker, Bishop of Ebbsfleet.

This was no ordinary Confirmation service!  On this day we restored the historic connection with Abbey School - one of England's most prestigious schools (former students include Jane Austin).  The last time Abbey School and S Giles joined for a Confirmation Service was in 1968.  Before that, it was an annual tradition.  We were very excited to restore the tradition, as was Abbey School.

Our Candidates this year were Catriona Stenlake, Rebecca Stenlake, Margaret Page, Christa Drew, Larissa Palethorpe, Kathryn Ansell, Madeleine Harris, James Harris, Hilary Weekes and Beavan Odipo.
